I should explain the previous post about baseball. I promised my daughter, Hope, that I would write a children's story about times in childhood when my Uncle Henry would give me and my brothers and friends fielding practice, and then give demonstrations on how to hit home runs. I am asking Hope to illustrate the story for me. It's sort of a father-daughter thing.
I also have a friend who has challenged me to set aside a significant block of time because I am always complaining that I don't have enough time to write. These first paragraphs of the story about Uncle Henry come out of a sort of social "artist time" where I write anything I can get down on paper and my friend works on drawing projects--just a couple of frustrated artistic types who are finding a way to work around the blocks. I post them as an accountability thing. Look for more about Uncle Henry.
